Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. (Colossians 4:2 NLT)
Paul wrote this when he was in prison, bounded by chains and held captive. Even in his state, he still encouraged the people to be prayerful and thankful. Wow, put that in the modern context and people will call you crazy. But hey, do we do things for the people around us or do we do it for God? God's ways has never been mainstream and people of the world will never understand it. Being crazy in people's eyes is definitely better because we are not conforming to what the world does, but instead we are carrying out what God wants us to. Just like how Paul was becoming more like Christ each day, God I pray that I will be like him too. As each day passes, I pray that I will become more and more like Jeaus.

106. QT (30/10/12)
Philippians 1
The more I read about Paul, the more I admire him. In everything that he does, it can be seen that he really learnt what is putting others first, which comes as a struggle in a world like this now. God's heartbeat is people, and we as God's children are to follow after His heartbeat. On another hand, if Paul can do it, why can't we? We have the backing of God our Father, and we have the Holy Spirit living in us. God can definitely give us the strength and love we need in order to put others first, just as long we ask for it.

WHAT. ARE. THE. CHANCES. OF. THIS. HAPPENING. God you're waaaaaaaay too awesome. Carefully planning for this day, and for this verse to just pop out. O_O as much as I dread going to work today, I will do it because as I serve in whatever I'm doing today, it is ultimately for You. Forgive me for thinking that I go to work just to please myself and to make my colleagues happy by appearing. Because of this, I will push myself forward and combat evil with You! (Make it through the day I mean) thank You for Your timely word today God!! :) with this, 向前冲啊!!! ^_^

Ephesians 5
Now that we are aware that Christ gave his life just for us, we need to do something to make this worthy! Loving our lives like we used to do doesn't make the cut anymore. Instead, we need to live to become more and more like Jesus. It is going to be tough, but it will definitely be very rewarding :)

Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us. (Ephesians 2:18 NLT)
All because of that one act, we are not reunited with God in the spirit. And this is so exciting! We now have the same power in us that has risen Christ from the grave. Start living victoriously, but most importantly you gotta align your private and public life so that the power you have won't be revoked by God.

102. QT (22/10/12)
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:5 NLT)
Notice the words IN ADVANCE. It means that before anything happened, God already planned to send Jesus to die on the cross. This once again shows that it is not by our efforts that we are saved, it is all because God wants us to be reunited with Him again. Nothing you do will make God love you more or less, He will still love you and He has no favourites! You can be serving in many ministries, you can be serving in none. But at the end of the day, God still loves you the same! Don't get too focused on trying to gain merits with the things to do, stay focused on His love and to please Him in whatever you do.
